Utility Platform
Newsletter - No. 1 - October 2022

Dear friends of the Utility Platform,

We are delighted to be sending you the first issue of our newsletter. From now on, you will be receiving information on the Utility Platform and the individual partnerships three to four times a year.

Currently, utiliy partnerships are in the midst of implementation. Now that the COVID-19 pandemic is no longer as frightening as it once was, in-person meetings are proving particularly fruitful. Here we are pleased to provide you with several glimpses of the current work in the utility partnerships.

International conferences, such as our last network meeting in May in particular, have shown: cross-partnership cooperation holds a wealth of synergies and promotes networking - also between utilities within the Global South and within the Global North. We will continue to support the creation of these synergies in the future. The video captures the good mood and some first impressions of our network meeting. For those who would like more in-depth information, we recommend that you read the full proceedings.

The Russian war of aggression on Ukraine is also shaping our actions in the network. The utilities that were already actively involved in partnerships before the war began have grown even closer together. The German utilities are supporting their Ukrainian partners by providing rapid and uncomplicated assistance to keep the water supply going. Furthermore, four new partnerships between German and Ukrainian utilities have been established in recent months. This is a great sign of solidarity that will hopefully lead to longer-term engagement.

We wish you a stimulating read, and would be delighted if you could recommend the newsletter to other members of your network.
