Insights into the solidarity partnership between OOWV and the Ukrainian partners in Chernihiv and Sumy

At the fourth YOUtility Lunch of the "Utility platform for strengthening partnerships of municipal utilities worldwide", the Oldenburgisch-Ostfriesische Wasserverband (OOWV) and the Ukrainian partners from Chernihiv will present their solidarity partnership with the cities of Sumy and Chernihiv. This started with a first meeting at a trade fair in May 2022. It focuses on procurements for the Ukrainian partners. During a visit by the Ukrainians in the fall of 2022, the partners inspected OOWV's facilities and developed further ideas for cooperation beyond 2022.
The pilot project “Utility platform” is financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and Engagement Global/the Service Agency Communities in One World have been implementing it since July 2019. The utility platform is being developed and implemented together with the German Association of Local Public Utilities (VKU) and the German Water Partnership (GWP).
