The cooperation between German and Ukrainian utilities takes place through "classic" utility partnerships, which were already established before Russia's war of aggression, as well as through "solidarity operator partnerships", which were established during the war.
Like a classic utility partnership, a solidarity utility partnership is a cooperation between one or more German municipal water companies and one or more Ukrainian water operators. Due to the current situation, however, the focus is on procuring the necessary technical equipment as well as the required know-how to support Ukraine in rehabilitating critical infrastructure. Even if experts from German operators cannot travel to Ukraine at the moment, trips by Ukrainian partners to Germany can be part of the partnership work.
